Wild Berries Smoothie



About 5 years ago my father bought me a smoothie book, Smoothies:  Best–ever Cool Drink Recipes. It’s sad to say but even though I have made smoothies I’ve never made one from this book. So this recipe is one of them. Hope you guys enjoy it. Dad… finally I’m using the book! It’s never to late…  : )



Ingredients:

1 cup low fat strawberry yogurt
½ cup cranberry juice
9 oz of strawberries hulled and quartered
3 oz frozen raspberries
2 Tablespoons of brown sugar

Procedure:


Combine the yogurt and cranberry juice in a blender. 


Add the strawberries.


 Add the raspberries. Mix Well. Pour into chilled glasses.

Enjoy!

Strawberry – Banana Smoothie



In Puerto Rico where I currently live it’s very hot right now, so there is really nothing better than drinking a rich, cold smoothie in the middle of the day while looking up more recipes. I love bananas and it is very likely that you will be reading a lot of banana recipes on the blog. My husband says I’m obsessed with them… well maybe a little; I eat bananas even with my meals! I just love them!! Hope you guys love them too.

Ingredients:
1 – 2 Tablespoon Brown sugar
½ cup of milk
1 cup of whole strawberries
½ to 1 whole banana (To taste)
ice (To taste. I don’t use it but my husband loves it.)

Procedure:

Put the strawberries and bananas in the osterizer
Add the brown sugar




Add the milk



Mix

*If desired, add the ice and grind it.

Macerated Strawberries



This is a very yummy recipe! This past summer summer I was craving something refreshing, so I decided to macerate strawberries. This recipe is very diverse. You can make sundaes, milkshakes or us it as a topping. My husband loves to eat it with ice cream! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 pound of frozen strawberries
3 Tablespoons of white sugar
1/2 Tablespoon of lemon juice

Procedure:
Measure the pound of strawberries on a scale.


Cut the strawberries in pieces.
  Put the strawberries in a bowl; add the sugar and lemon juice.



Mix it well cover the bowl with cellophane paper.



Wait until the strawberries defrost and you see the syrup.

Tips:
You can use this strawberry syrup on ice cream, custards, or cheesecakes!
